Position Title: Java Developer
Project Overview: Oakland Consulting Group, Inc. is looking for a multi-talented software developer to add to their dynamic team supporting a highly visible federal contract. Selected candidates must have experience translating concepts and specifications into usable and efficient client/customer facing applications using Java/JEE technologies
Location: Washington, DC Metro Area
Travel: No travel required. Onsite Monday - Friday
Compensation: DOE
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a government agency public trust
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop application code using Java/JEE, XML, SOAP, REST, Spring Framework, and Hibernate Framework
- Design and develop JUnit test code
- Write/set up Ant and /or Maven to build, package, and deploy application code to the target JEE Application Server
- Configure application resources in WebLogic application Server such as Data Sources and Messaging resources
- Utilizes a working knowledge of J2EE/Java and Spring, and Hibernate to troubleshoot technical issues (error messages, bugs with the software, availability)
- Participate in a Scrum/Agile team, attend stand-ups and estimate complexity for stories and tasks assigned
- Enforce code quality through test driven development
- Proactively seeks opportunities to implement improvements to internal team processes
- Contributes to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organizations Agile project lifecycle
Required Skills/Experience:
- 3+ years experience analyzing, designing and implementing integration solutions using J2EE or related technologies, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 3+ years experience in designing and developing using Java/JEE, Spring, Hibernate, other common third party libraries(Apache), and Web Services (REST)
- 3+ years experience developing message-oriented integration solutions with Java/JEE
- 3+ years experience writing JUnit tests
- 3+ years experience with Maven and/or Ant build tools
- 3+ years experience in database development using Oracle or SQL Server database technologies
- 2+ years experience with Scrum, Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, User Acceptance Testing
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting application in Oracle Weblogic and JBOSS Application servers
- Thorough understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum
- A wide variety of testing tools and techniques, ex. Junit
- At least one year Angular JS preferred
